When the RES Headquarters was rebuilt in 1934-36, gifts of timber for panelling and furnishing were obtained from Empire Governments, companies and individuals. Many were destroyed during the bombing of 1941 and replacement gifts were received. This file coordinates pre and post-war correspondence.

Includes material on Universities throughout the Commonwealth of Nations. Many, though not all, of the slides were taken by Ian Maxwell.

99 x 150 mm. A view showing three Indians (two women and a man) standing in a line while being photographed. A white sheet has been hung up behind them as a backcloth.

171 x 235 mm. A view showing an Indian grave in a forest clearing. The corpse has been wrapped in palm leaves and tied onto a crude wooden trestle. The wrapped corpses of three more Indians can be seen in the background.

248 x 199 mm. A view showing the Georgetown Town Hall in High Street, a mock-gothic affair with a decorative tower, completed in 1889. See also Y307A/76.
